In October 2016, Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) celebrated its 20 Year Anniversary Celebration, with a weekend of festivities called “20 Years Strong.”
The once in a lifetime celebration brought a circle of community together around the organization and the artists it supports. Participants came from across the United States to honor the organization’s dedication artist empowerment. Events included an exclusive VIP Dinner at LT Steak & Seafood at The Betsy – South Beach, yoga with Early Starters Yoga, Lunch at Clive’s Jamaican Café, a tour of Little Haiti and a street festival of art with delicious Caribbean food, music, and artist vendors. Saturday featured a Dance Party at Maggie Knox Gallery, with special guest DJ Esther. Sunday brunch on Ocean Drive at The Betsy completed the weekend.
In February, 2017, The Betsy once again hosted Diaspora Vibe, as they awarded their artists selected for residency in the 2017-18 Season.
